According to the program i can start at Week 3 for sit-ups. So that is sort of exciting.
Tonight I do the initial tests.

Disco Dazzler: Week 4 Day 2
Pushups: 140
Crunches: 152
Squats: 200
Followed by a 5.2 mile run

Week 1 day 3 sit ups, day 2 others
Push-ups: 4, 5, 4, 4, 19
Sit-ups: 30, 38, 23, 23, 100 (woo hoo! Half way!!!)
Squats: 27, 34, 21, 21, 35
Legs and arms…feel…like…jello.
Tomorrow is a test day for push ups, I think. My days are all off kilter because of my crazy week, might have to go without a rest day one day next week to get back on schedule.

I feel sore in my right arm, toward the shoulder, and that arm only. Weird. Hope I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m so proud of myself for doing these though! We’re all going to look AWESOME when this is over. :)

For those of you also doing the sit-up challenge, I have a question about proper form. Are you doing a crunch or a full sit-up? In my head (based on PE back ing grade school) a sit-up is much higher up, more of the back comes off the floor if not all of the back. Squats and crunches
Decided to give these a shot too so I just did the initial tests. Sorry to spam, but I wanted to have a record.
Squats: 50 Crunches: 50, felt like I could’ve done more but I wasn’t sure if a crunch counted 100%. Should I do a full blown sit up or crunch?

Granted, I did the knee style push-ups after the second set, but I’m pretty proud of that 14. I tried to push myself since I was doing the alternative style. I thought I could at least secure a sturdy teir 2 starting point, and honestly I could start there, but I was timid to put a lot of weight on my toe (it’s broken, I think, even if its not it hurts like a mofo). It was rough. My arms are still twitching from the last set. Still, fatigue really only started on the last 3 pushups of the set, so I’d say I’m doing a lot better. Week 4 will be interesting to say the least!

Pushups are rough. I’m always okayyyy until the last set, and then I die. But i’m making progress.
Today:
Pushups: 16,17, 14,14,20 = 81
Situps: 12,15,11,11,15 = 64
Squats: 30,38,27,27,40 = 162
Week 2 totals:
Pushups: 215 (previous week 153)
Situps: 152 (pretest 20)
Squats: 401 (pretest 50)
I also ran 3 miles yesterday in 26 minutes, averaging out to an 8:40 mile.
Go me. :)...
Apollo's Raven: Day 2, Week 3
Oh man, Day One this week knocked me down a peg, as it was a struggle to do the last 3 sets. But this morning, I rallied and managed to only trip up on the last set:
14, 19, 14, 14, 20 for a total of 80 today. Pushups to date: 450
I think it’s getting yourself in the right mood/zone, as I was not feeling it when I rolled out of bed today. But a tall glass of water and the right pump up...

I also started the squat and situp challenge today, which is super impressive (to me) because I had a really tough pilates class yesterday in which we did lots of pushups and ab work.
Week 1 Day 1-
Squats: 8, 8, 5, 5, 20
Situps: 9, 9, 6, 6, 14
I can’t wait to see how I look (and um feel of course) in 6 weeks! Just in time for summer!! Now I think I’ll go for a run...

im nervous because i havent done pushups in so long so i’ll prob have embarrassingly low numbers…. but at least now i have a sweet spreadsheet to keep track with!

That is A LOT of pushups for me. And I’m really not lying when I say my arms feel stronger already. I told my sis and her fiance about this challenge at Easter and they are going to try it too. I still don’t believe I can do 100 in a row!! But I’m already doing more than I thought possible!

Well, that’s probably more than I’ve ever done before, so yay! I’m excited to see how I finish week 1.
Week 2 Complete
It ended with me collapsed on the ground. The arms! Like noodles!
But, after the shower I tried to work with some 20 lb weights, and it definitely felt lighter than previous weeks. Tomorrow I’m going to do the end-of-week-2-test to see if I place out of the tier I’ve been in. Wish me luck!

Apollosraven and I (Sufjanssteven) are starting this on Monday, as well as continuing our 100 pushup challenge.
I’m awful at situps (these are actually crunches), so I’m excited to try and build up my abs, too.

Awesome job, SS. I know, I’ve noticed that it’s always the last one that’s the kicker (the ‘as many as you can do so long as it’s X’). Hope everyone’s got some water at the ready and keeps hydrated in between. Take advantage of those 1-2 minute rests.
